Honcho Pizza Parlour started out as a food truck in 2016, serving up wood-fired pizzas by the sidewalk, but evolved into a full-fledged restaurant in November 2018. In the past four months, loyalists have been able to relish Honcho’s thin-crust pizzas in air-conditioned comfort, so it might be time for new fans to discover these extra-crisp specialities - plus, the truck's still around, parked outside the restaurant, with its kitchen and oven still intact and working.
No fewer than 10 varieties of pizzas are available, spanning toppings of salmon to beef bacon and BBQ chicken. Our choice - smoked duck with roasted sesame mayo, black olives, onions, mozzarella and rocket leaves - conveyed a sweet side that mellowed out the meat’s savouriness, costing RM22 for a nine-inch serving that two light eaters could share. Wash down with a Barbican malt beverage, ideal if you favour soft drinks with pizzas.
