Launching its first KL branch in Bangsar, the Johor-born cafe-bistro Roots promises plant-powered pleasures in a friendly fresh-faced space.
Specialities include Italian-Malaysian modern meat-free hybrids like Laksa Angel Hair Pasta with wild mushrooms in creamy curry and Nasi Lemak Risotto, blue-hued with butterfly pea flowers. Gelato is available in flavours like pistachio.
Drinks are distinctive too, with pineapple tepache and kombucha with sweet potato furnishing fermented fun.
