Duduk @ Solaris Dutamas
March 2, 2012
Sit down, make yourself at home & take your time to choose from Duduk Cafe's selection of Asian & Western specialties.
"Bubur lambuk" isn't something we see often (outside of Ramadan buffets), so we had to have it here. Comfort food for carb-lovers _ thick, nourishing porridge, piping-hot & brimming with beef & veggies. But less pepper might make this better.
Duduk's burgers feature patties prepared in the cafe's own kitchen. The beef version is juicy, but a tad too gamy for our liking. Chicken & fish burgers are also available.
"Deja Vuu" cakes in cups (not exactly cupcakes). Stored in freezers, like ice cream, with shelf lives of about a year. Convenient for takeaway.
Ferrero Rocher & Kinder Bueno shakes. Thick with ice, but not creamy enough.
So there are both hits & misses at Duduk. Maybe another visit will be more rewarding; there's more to try, from nasi lemak to Nicoise salad, tortillas to tom yam soup. Duduk Cafe has another branch in Damansara Jaya for PJ's residents.
Duduk serves no booze, but Paradiso Lounge, a 90-second walk away, saves the day.
Basic Instinct (absolut vanilla, creme de cacao, nutmeg cream).
For the teetotaler: a fizzy cold juice with real mangosteen & lychee. Fruity & refreshing.
