Coal is Bangsar’s new cavern for caffeine and creative coolers, the dayside doppelgänger of cocktail parlour Coley, mining morning magic instead of midnight mixology.

Coal is no diamond in the rough; it’s a fresh front for flat whites with the proven polish of Coley, which has been working whisky wizardry since 2016.

Serving from 9am, Coal shows how a night owl’s haunt can shine before noon, swapping shakers for steam wands and bar bites for brunch-and-brew beauties.

House bakes span hearty bagels stuffed with chicken, fennel-apple slaw and red pepper with aquafaba emulsion, plus flavourful fried chicken sandwiches with ulam raja slaw and pickled mango butter glaze. Charcoal choux conceals vanilla cremeux for yin-yang contrast.

Mocktails like Seed keep the imagination flowing, pouring coffee with almond milk, infused with jackfruit and chestnuts. Also sip on Coal’s own-fermented soursop kombucha for a bright start.
