Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur's Melting Pot Cafe remains one of our favourite dining destinations for buffets in the city centre, with a spacious, comfortable setting lined with live cooking stations and plenty of fresh, hot delicacies.
Chef Mohamad Yusoff's Selera Kampung Asli celebrates the festive spirit of a kampung's kenduri. Meat enthusiasts will head straight for the hearty Roasted Whole Lamb with Nasi Briyani, featuring fleshy, aromatic lamb, and Sup Gearbox, brimming with beefy succulence.
The colourful spread promises a true taste of tradition. The rotation of local recipes served throughout the month include Sup Tulang Rusuk, Sup Ekor, Laksa Johor, Ayam Masak Merah, Ayam Percik Kelantan, Kambing Masak Hitam Manis, Daging Rendang Minang, Ikan Tenggiri Berlado, Kari Kepala Ikan Merah Bendi and Gulai Tunjang Minangkabau.Starters and kerabu to whet the appetite comprise popular perennials like Tauhu Sumbat Isi Ayam, Kerabu Kacang Buncis dan Kerang, Kerabu Pucuk Paku bersama Ikan Bilis, Kerabu Telur Goreng, Acar Limau and Acar Jelatah.
For mains, indulge to your heart's content in Thai Noodle Soup, Deep-fried Squid with Garlic and Pepper, Sauteed Shrimp with Basil, Chicken Panang with Lime Leaves and Peanuts, Vegetable Hot and Sour Curry, and other fragrantly robust treats. Sweet satisfaction comes in the form of taro balls in coconut milk, red rubies with jackfruit, and much, much more.
The buffet also spans Melting Pot signatures like Satay, Bubur Lambuk, Aneka Ikan Bakar, Otak-Otak, Murtabak Ayam and Vietnamese Beef Noodles, plus a section of Seafood on Ice that comprises Poached Tiger Prawns, Pink Scallops On Shell, Oysters, Poached Black Mussels and Half Green Mussels.
