SS2's new Sho-Ann serves homely, honest Japanese fare, prepared mainly in makunouchi-style bentos, in a warm-toned, welcoming sanctuary.
Highlights include richly tender Gyusuji Nikomi, a slow-cooked beef stew with carrots and konnyaku; Tori Karaage, featuring crispy-fried chicken thigh meat, marinated overnight for a deliciously succulent depth; and Sake Saikyoyaki, with Norwegian trout steeped in Sho-Ann's own sake-infused miso paste.
Complete your meal with sides, miso soup and a selection of rice, including some seasoned with ginger, garlic and shimeji mushrooms, others turned into pork-wrapped onigiri, relying on premium Niigata Koshihikari rice in a testament to Sho-Ann's commitment to authenticity.
