The Daily Grind @ Bangsar Village revised

August 12, 2009

Click here for previous review of The Daily Grind (March 27).

Roast pumpkin salad. Loaded with carbs from the pumpkin chunks, but totally worth it. This could be a divine meal on its own, with big helpings of rocket leaves, radicchio, croutons and parmesan shavings in honey mustard sauce.

Chermoula salmon fillet burger. A letdown. The grilled salmon was dry and lacked a fresh flavour. The jalapeno cheese and cocktail sauce dressing did nothing to help.

Lamb shank. Not bad. The meat was fork-tender and went well with the dark gravy and accompaniments of sauteed shallots and creamy mash.

The Hummingbird cake was magnificent as always. Every bite was a delight.

We also really, really like the Red Velvet too. Moist and oh-so-creamy.

The Grind Slam (Canadian whiskey, drambuie, ginger ale, angostura bitters), Real Grind (tequila, vodka, lime juice, pineapple juice) and Grind N Stretch (Canadian Club, amaretto, lemon juice, sprite).
