ISHq @ Crowne Plaza Mutiara
February 3, 2010
The setting is lovely, the service is friendly and the food tastes satisfactory, but this visit to ISHq reminded us that a few unintended glitches can be enough to blemish a meal.
The ISHq Summer Rolls seemed extremely healthy: lean slices of roast duck & crunchy veggies wrapped in rice paper accompanied by a sweet & spicy sauce.
Pomelo & prawn salad. A tangy pleasure. The poached prawns went marvelously well with the juicy pomelo and tiny bits of cili padi.
Salmon Tikka (salmon cubes matured in a spicy marinade of dill, fennel, ginger, honey & mustard oil, roasted in a tandoor). Tasted tender and fresh. But here's our first complaint: we distinctly ordered a single portion to share for RM45, but found out while paying that they actually served us two portions and charged RM90.
The alcohol content in the cocktails was really low. Worse still, the bar took absolute ages to prepare them (we finished our food before the cocktails even arrived) and got our orders mixed up, serving us the wrong drinks twice.
These two: Banana Dream (Finlandia, creme de banana, orange juice, whipped cream) and Singapore Sling (gin, cherry brandy, triple sec, lime juice, pineapple juice, grenadine syrup).
