Chiaki’s Pastries specialises purely in financiers, the small, rectangular French cakes, moistened with butter and nutty with almonds. Chiaki's rendition is beautifully crisp-edged, light and tender, with hints of honeyed sweetness, borrowing from a Japanese-tweaked recipe with unsalted butter. We particularly like the version studded with almond slices, for that elevation of extra flavour and texture.
Chiaki's packaging is thoughtful, with each piece sealed separately, bubble wrapped in a box (four pieces for RM29).
