Dark, oppressive clouds hover outside, but Awan offers a silver lining in a space for plants, photography and coffee, the passions of its two founders. Still a spartan work in progress in a first-floor shop-lot surrounded by neighbourhood homes, with reservations required of customers for now, Awan aims to furnish an opportunity for the community to connect over filter coffee of Costa Rican beans and hot chocolate of Malaccan cacao, all worthwhile companions for a Saturday afternoon.
