Little Cottage Cafe @ Idaman Robertson
June 17, 2018
A little cottage in the chaotic heart of Pudu? Not precisely, but this new cafe certainly evokes a sort of pastoral charm - it's the sort of space that's perfect for retreating and relaxing, scarcely a ten-minute ride from KL's city centre.
We like how Little Cottage Cafe has fun with its food - paratha makes its presence known in tasty Mexican fusion fare such as the Asian versions of huevos rancheros (RM14; fried eggs with tomatoes and beans on a crisp paratha) and quesadillas (RM9; cheese-stuffed paratha with a textured curry aioli).
Satay also takes on a surprising twist, reinterpreted as stir-fried chicken saturated in peanut sauce for a distinctive way of enjoying the familiar flavours of satay (RM10). But our favourite recipe here is the roasted sea bass with a Peranakan-inspired sauce (RM34) - it's perfectly prepared, with the firm, moist and very fresh fish beautifully complemented by spicy-tangy dynamics.
To complete the colonial-lite Frasers-Cameron experience, sample some scones or indulge in a game of carrom. Special shout-out to Little Cottage staff member Melon, who does a spectacular job of making sure that every customer receives a personal touch of hospitality.
