Mori Kohi, Off Jalan Tun Razak
October 19, 2021
If you're seeking a memorable cafe to explore this weekend, check out Mori Kohi, scheduled to soft-launch this Friday, set in a bungalow that houses five concepts - Mori Kohi is a yoshoku-inspired cafe serving Western-influenced Japanese meals; Bar Moku is a casual cocktail bar with a garden; Vegetory is a vertical vegetable farm; Midorie is a plant retail gallery; Supesu is a minimalist event space.
Combined, the concepts strive to form a leafy oasis in the urban jungle, a five-minute drive from KLCC. Mori Kohi is steered by the flora-loving founders of The Owls Cafe, with a warm, friendly team who work hard to welcome walk-ins even though the space is still being restored before its official opening.
Mori Kohi promises contemporary Japanese comfort fare - its vegetables come right here from Vegetory, so customers can rest assured of a hydroponic harvest that's beautifully crisp, fresh and wholesome, nutritiously completing everything from hiyashi chuka cold noodles to tender hambagu chicken patties.
The Owls team have long prided themselves on coffee and matcha beverages, also a cornerstone of Mori Kohi, loosely translated as coffee in the forest.
If you like lingering outdoors, you can savour your coffee in the sunshine, at a garden beside Bar Moku, which whips up Japanese highballs and classic cocktails in the evening.
