Yamagoya Ramen @ Solaris Dutamas

Another week, another ramen outlet invades another area; it's taken longer than expected, but it's finally Solaris Dutamas' turn to host a nice nook for non-halal noodles.
Ramen is freshly handmade here, with pork bone stock for soup flown in from Japan, where Yamagoya has more than 140 eateries, complementing branches in Thailand & Indonesia.
The specialty: Mukashi Ramen (RM24+), comprising the essential cha-siu, seasoned egg, seaweed, spring onions & bamboo shoots in tonkotsu broth. Warm & wholesome, filling & flavorsome, this hits the right notes. Can't call it the best in town, but it's in the Top 10.
Slake your thirst with shochu. Yamagoya's other ramen varieties include miso, black garlic & spicy tonbanjan, while side dishes comprise gyoza, pork cutlets & fried chicken.
We think this unassuming little shop will do well, luring many ramen fans in the weeks ahead. With its diligent service team & drool-worthy noodles, it definitely deserves to.
Desiring desserts, we took the Penchala Link from Solaris Dutamas & returned to Topshelf @ Taman Tun for its sweet treats.

Panna cotta with a Malaysian twist (RM18++). Confidently textured for silky smoothness, creatively flavored with Gula Melaka & amaretto.
Champagne mille-feuille (RM21++): puff pastry with champagne-poached berries, lemon curd & chocolate glaze. Sweet-sour & crispy-sticky, it makes for a light indulgence.
