A nautical theme is prevalent in The Pier's decor and menu, but unfortunately, the dim lighting and mustiness here make it seem somewhat dingy.
Service is warm and welcoming, but the food could be better. While the seared scallops were fresh and meaty, they were undermined by a cloying brandy cream sauce.
Grilled cod with watercress sauce. Only a bit better than a food court offering.
Banana souffle. Texturally, more like bread-and-butter pudding than souffle.
Pineapple crepes. Alas, too bland and doughy to really recommend.
