Porcélene @ Empire, Damansara Perdana

December 20, 2013

Returning to Porcelene for Round Two. Earlier entry on Porcelene: Oct. 11, 2013.

Beefing up this entry with Porcelenes interpretation of sup gearbox (RM19++), bristling with all manner of bovine cuts & components.

Terrified of tripe? Skip this then. Still, for some of us, this soup for the soul, as the menu calls it, might be the best thing for a rainy night.

Porcelenes Black on Black burger (RM32++) is a big one, boasting a Black Angus beef patty in a toasted charcoal bun with onion rings & cross trax fries.

Not bad; maybe we wont recall what it tastes like in ten months, but we enjoyed it well enough.

More memorable: Porcelenes paella, prettily presented. RM58++, sufficient for two or three.

The platter smells seductively of saffron, with Spanish rice simmered in beef broth & adorned with spicy beef brisket & chicken sausages.

The grains might be mushier than wed prefer, but did we still finish every bite? Definitely.

Wrap up with coffee cocktails that include the likes of illy coffee with frangelico, chocolate & whipped cream or with Baileys & milk.

Coffee, Sailor Jerry rum, kahlua & whipped cream.
