A delicious 'hangi' (traditional Maori meal cooked using heated rocks buried in a pit oven, comprising smoked chicken thigh, pumpkin, kumara, corn & rewena sourdough potato bread) makes for a lovely lunch while exploring the excellent New Zealand Maori Arts & Crafts Institute, a cherished site for a cultural deep-dive, indigenous musical showcase, geysers & mud pools.
