Pierre Herme

January 15, 2011

France, Part VII: Pierre Herme reputedly offers some of the world's best macarons.

Priced at 1.50 euros a pop, these seem like a relative bargain. More than 30 flavors are available, running the gamut from vanilla with olive oil to raspberry with rose cream. Forgot to list which varieties we had here though.

Do the macarons live up to the hype? They're definitely decadent; sweet and gooey, but paradoxically still crisp and airy. We could have happily eaten three dozen in one sitting.
