Classic American cheeseburgers form the foundation of NY Burger Co, spearheaded by a native New Yorker, served in a spirited setting with an Empire state of mind, streaked with scenes of Manhattan's skyline and Times Square's bright lights.
No-nonsense, honest-to-goodness burgers: NY Burger Co grinds out its own beef patties in its kitchen every morning, with a blend of Australian beef that its founders spent weeks perfecting, determined to craft a tender patty with a tasty punch. Start with the NY Cheeseburger for the fundamental burger, topped off with American cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles, tomatoes and a house-made Crack Sauce that packs both heat and tang - for RM10.99, it's a pretty satisfying burger.
For heftier appetites, try scaling the Empire Burger, loaded with two beef patties, three slices of cheese, double the beef bacon, plus all the trimmings (RM19.99). It's worth upgrading to a set - the extra RM5 will buy you a hearty portion of hand-cut, double-fried russet potatoes flown in from Washington (well worth the carbs), as well as a soft drink.
It shouldn't be a surprise to see a Pizza Burger on the menu, since NY Burger Co is run by the folks behind Mikey's New York Pizza. This burger brings together the flavours of both burgers and pizzas in every bite, combining mozzarella cheese with pizza sauce, beef pepperoni, basil leaves and onions for a playful sense of contemporary fun (RM12.99).
All beef patties can be substituted with chicken or mushrooms on request; there is nonetheless a dedicated chicken burger available - true to the venue's New York roots, it's the Buffalo Fried Chicken Burger, featuring breaded chicken slathered with buffalo sauce and blue cheese (RM12.99).
Housekeeping notes: NY Burger Co is mostly a self-service joint, so be prepared to collect your food from the counter and also dispose of trash in the specified sections.
