Nuts Enough & The Tapping Tapir

October 18, 2013

Generic peanut butter not cutting it anymore? Check out supermarket shelves for Nuts Enough, an independent Malaysian brand of well-made nut spreads.

Fun flavors like cookie dough almond, maple cinnamon almond & dark chocolate cashew, each with distinctive textures & tastes that transcend peanut butter.

Cookie dough (RM25 per bottle) proves chewy-sticky, triggering a major workout for the jaws.

More medium-bodied: Dark chocolate cashew, the creamy choice.

Our favorite: the extra-drippy sweet softness of the maple cinnamon (RM28 for nearly 200 grams, or 1,200 moderate-guilt calories).

The spreads are available by order as well as at Village Grocer in Bangsar Village, Mont Kiara & Sunway Giza. Buy some bread to partner with them ...

... or even tortilla chips (though salsa ends up being better for the chips).

How to wash down all that? Try The Tapping Tapir sodas, a new initiative from the fine folks behind The Potong popsicles.

Hibiscus-Lime supplies floral-fruity refreshment, not overly sugary at all. The preservative-free beverages, made from pure fruit juices, herbs & spices, also come in flavors like apple-vanilla, grapefruit-chamomile, pear-lemongrass & orange-jasmine.

The Tapping Tapir is available _ nice & chilled _ at The Potongs pushcart at Publika, outside the EAT Food Village, as well as the Royal Selangor Cafe in Setapak.
