Geographer Restaurant & 32 Bistro @ Puchong
April 6, 2013
Checking out a couple of Puchong hangouts: Geographer Restaurant & 32 Bistro.
First up, IOI Boulevards Geographer pub, to soak up the suns dying rays.
Geographer serves food from multiple continents, but we opted for its European menu. The Kartoffeln Salad (RM8.50+) is a German potato recipe, half-boiled here with chopped gherkins and a mustard-mayo dressing. Creamy comfort food, simple but steadfastly satisfying.
But while Geographers menu includes ambitious fare like foie gras, that and other items were unavailable when we tried ordering them. For the Nicoise salad, the quail eggs on the menu were unexpectedly replaced with a regular egg, while the tuna was completely missing.
These Green Dinosaur and Sunset Strip cocktails are pricey but fairly potent at RM36++. Unfortunately, the menu fails to list their components; the service team is also unable to say.
Next up, 32 Bistro, a setting that might seem strikingly Bangsar-inspired.
This bistros offerings are wallet-friendly; this duck confit hovers around RM30, served in a stew of carrots, onions & mashed potatoes that could feel like comfort food too.
Char-grilled beef patties with mushrooms (RM20++). Wont win awards for the Klang Valleys finest food, but hearty & tasty enough to please.
The bars martinis clock in at a low-looking RM20 each, but their impotence makes it clear that customers should choose wine or shots of hard liquor instead.
Note: 32 Bistro & Bar operates a second branch at Sunway Pyramid.
