De Coffee Room @ Cheras & Monjo Coffee @ Cyberjaya

September 18, 2013

Cruising through a couple of cafes in territories we seldom stray into: Cheras & Cyberjaya.

First up, De Coffee Room, a hideout thats tricky to locate, unless customers are familiar with The Challenger Sports Center in Taman Cuepacs. This is a tiny, four-table cafe, run by passion by chatty coffee enthusiast Chriss Tee, who strives to bring the best she can to her business.

Savories here range from egg-packed pleasures to spaghetti & sandwiches.

Desserts include Nutella mille-crepes (same supplier as The Red Beanbags), raisin scones & banana-hazelnut muffins.

For coffee, customers can order some Panama Esmeralda Geisha ...

... or packaged blends from Beans Depot, or even a non-caffeinated but entirely enjoyable lemongrass-lime beverage.

Next up, for folks working in Cyberjaya, Monjo Coffee is also worth a visit or two.

Monjo serves true all-day breakfasts; even at 7:30pm, patrons can order this brekkie burger, stuffed with poached egg, turkey ham, mushrooms, spinach & hollandaise sauce (RM14+).

Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon & creme fraiche on toast (RM16+).

Monjo sells Marou single-origin chocolate, handmade from Trinitario cocoa beans organically grown in Vietnams Mekong Delta, boasting spicy-fruity notes.

The Vietnamese chocolate is used to make Monjos hot chocolate.

Hazelnut caffe latte, extracted from 100 percent pure Arabica beans.
