Driving into or out of Malacca? Heres a convenient pit stop: Cravo Cravo, the main cafe of Philea Resort & Spa, near the North-South Expressways tollbooth exit.

Phileas a unique place, set on a forests edge for a tranquil, close-to-nature retreat.

This is a "log resort," which explains the wood-based architecture of these villas & suites.

Get comfy amid trees, streams & rocks without having to pitch a tent.

Cravo Cravos menu isnt as noteworthy as its setting, though its still respectable fare.

Pan-fried sea bass, coupled with couscous, sun-dried tomato & lemon reduction.

Oven-baked rib-eye steak with marrow reduction, potato cake & veggies.

Flavorsome, though nowhere near medium rare as requested. Nevertheless, the meat remained reasonably tender, effortless to both cut & chew.

Wine, cocktails & hard liquor are on the menu, but alcohols only served after 5pm. Something about how only some staff members can dispense it.
