Lakeside dining with a French flavor at Bistro Richard, a nice recent addition to the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centers limited F&B scene.
Nighttimes the best time to savor these serene surroundings, nestled beside Sentul Parks Samira Thai restaurant.
Cant get more French than escargot, right? RM25 before taxes. Always fun.
Coq au vin (RM35), a reasonably well-prepared rendition of the classic chicken recipe braised in Burgundy red wine, with beef bacon, broccoli & mushrooms.
Other European faves are available too, like Veal Milanese (RM42), bread-crumbed & butter-fried.
Steak-lovers, have your beef here with truffle-tinged mashed potatoes, asparagus & ratatouille in a Cognac-laced morel sauce.
Request your meat rare: its bloody good that way. Bistro Richard is a carnivores haven.
Sweets are simple but satisfactory, from chocolate chantilly mousse with berries (RM20) ...
... to crepe suzette (RM18) ...
... to the ubiquitous creme brulee (RM18).
Red flows freely to match the meat. Well, freely in the physical sense, not price-wise.
Plenty of competently executed cocktails too, from White Russians to Dry Martinis.
Or ask the bartender for his recommendation, maybe this mix of blue curacao, rum & triple sec.
KLPacs friendly neighborhood kitty bids farewell after pleading powerfully for scraps.
